Hakainde Hichilema fires Mines Ministry Secretary Mooya Lumamba

PRESIDENT Hakainde Hichilema has with immediate effect terminated the contract Ministry of Mines and Minerals Development permanent secretary Mooya Lumamba.

State House chief communications specialist Clayson Hamasaka said in a statement this evening the termination is pursuant to the provisions of Article 92 as read with Article 270 of the Constitution of the Republic of Zambia.

“The President has since thanked Mr. Lumamba for his services rendered to the Government of the Republic of Zambia and wishes him well for the future,” Mr Hamasaka said.

The development comes barely five days after the President fired Luapula Province Deputy Permanent Secretary Royd Mwansa and Five District commissioners.

Before before fired, Mr Mwansa was charged and arrested with Nchelenge District Commissioner Robert Mutepuka and Mwansabombwe District Commissioner Morton Sikazwe for being part of a transportation of minerals suspected to have been stolen.
