A Grade Seven pupil at Ikong’a Primary School in Ikelenge has committed suicide after he allegedly impregnated a Grade 12 pupil of Ikelenge Day Secondary School.

North-Western Province deputy police commanding officer Robison Moonga said Elijah Manasi, 22, of Kandayi village under chieftainess Ikelenge, killed himself between Saturday at 20:00 hours and Sunday at 06:30 hours.

“Brief facts of the matter are that the deceased impregnated Womba, other names not known, aged 18, a Grade 12 pupil at Ikelenge Day Secondary School,” he said.

He said on Saturday, the deceased was informed that the meeting to discuss the pregnancy issue was scheduled to be held on Sunday afternoon.

But in fear of the likely repercussions, he decided to take his own life by hanging himself.

“He was discovered hanging in his house.”
