Minister of Local Government, Richard Chimwendo Banda has announced that this year’s Kamuzu Day Commemorations will be held at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The day is commemorated on May 14 and has largely been held in Lilongwe.

Said Chimwendo Banda: “Kamuzu was state president for each and everyone in the country so government believes that it is only proper that we rotate places where this event can be held.”

Speaking on behalf of the Kamuzu family, Ken Kandodo Banda said that the family is appreciate the decision to rotate the venue of the event.

According to Chimwendo Banda, the event has been budgeted around K90 million.
