Leader of the House in Parliament, Richard Chimwendo Banda has disclosed to Members of Parliament that government will soon issue a press statement regarding the terrorism attack alert in the country.
Chimwendo Banda was responding to a concern raised by Leader of Opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa in Parliament this morning, on the imminent terror attacks in the country as per UK Counter Terrorism Policing intelligence, as published on its website yesterday.
Nankhumwa said the issue has raised public panic and fear.
Chimwendo Banda said the government is aware about the said report.
The British government on Thursday, March 31 issued a warning that terrorists could carry out attacks in Malawi.
The alert was posted on the British website for British citizens living in a foreign land.
The information is coming from the UK Counter Terrorism Policing posted under Travel Advice for Malawi.
British High Commissioner to Malawi, David Beer also confirmed the suspicions.
