Govt needs k21 billion to review primary and secondary school curriculum

Governent through the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is seeking a funding of twenty-one billion kwacha to undertake a comprehensive review of the primary and secondary school curriculum in the country.

Chikondano Mussa, the Principal Secretary in the ministry, has stated that the new primary school curriculum is expected to be completed by 2026, followed by the rollout of the secondary school curriculum in the same year.

Mussa has emphasized that developing a curriculum is a lengthy process that requires wide-range engagement.

However, Mussa added that once the process is completed, the ministry will need to develop teaching and learning materials, which further necessitates financial support from the government.
