Government through the Ministry of Health has asked network providers in the country to investigate and block numbers that are claiming to be workers under the ministry.

The fraudsters are sending text messages to people informing them that they have been selected to receive money from the ministry claiming the money is for those heavily hit by Covid and cholera.

Ministry of Health spokesperson Adrian Chikumbe has said that there is no such arrangement from the ministry.

He has also urged anyone who receives such messages to report the matter to police or not to respond such text messages.
