Speaker of Parliament Catherine Gotani Hara has paid her last respect to the former Malawi Congress Party President, late John Zenus Ungapake Tembo, who died yesterday in hospital, in Lilongwe at the age of 91.

Hara said she shall remember late Tembo for his strong-willed efforts in shaping Malawi’s parliamentary democracy.

“As a Leader of Opposition in Parliament, he ensured a strong opposition, which helped to shape our parliamentary democracy to what it is now” said Hara in a statement.
