Information reaching this publication indicates that Mangochi residents are facing a fuel shortage as petrol tanks at several fuel stations in the area have run dry. Popular fuel stations like Puma, Engen, and Mount Meru have been without petrol for two days, and other stations are reportedly running out in the afternoons.
This has forced some motorists to resort to buying petrol from the black market, where prices are often higher than the official rates. The shortage has also caused inconvenience for businesses that rely on fuel for their operations.
So far, officials from Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (Mera) have not commented on the situation, leaving many residents wondering when the fuel supply will be restored.
