Ras Chikomeni Chirwa had announced his intention to run as a presidential candidate in the 2025 general elections in Malawi.
After being rejected by the Malawi Electoral Commission in the 2019 polls, Chikomeni had learned from that experience and had started making preparations early.
He had been raising money for the nomination fees and working on gathering support in each district.
Chikomeni had urged Malawians to support his candidacy, claiming that he would be the best president for the country. One of his proposals had been to legalize Indian Hemp, also known as marijuana, as he had believed it would boost the country’s economy.
As a musician, he had planned to release an album on October 1st of that year and had organized live music shows across the country to raise funds for his campaign.
It remained to be seen how Ras Chikomeni Chirwa’s presidential bid would unfold, but his early preparations and determination had shown his commitment to entering the political arena once again.
