Former PTC Employees Petition Parliament for Unsettled Terminal Benefits

Former employees of PTC have petitioned Parliament to intervene in the long-standing issue of unpaid terminal benefits.

The chairperson of the former employees, Moses Banda, highlighted that despite the sale of the company’s assets over a year ago, the approximately 615 ex-employees are yet to receive their dues, amounting to around K1.6 billion.

Banda emphasized the diminishing value of the owed amount due to delays, citing the recent 44 percent devaluation of the Kwacha as an example.

Zomba Malosa lawmaker Grace Kwelepeta received the petition on behalf of Parliament and pledged to present it for consideration.
