Police in Nkhotakota have detained five men for allegedly committing multiple offenses within the lakeshore district.
According to Nkhotakota’s Deputy Public Relations Officer, Chisomo Chuma, the suspects, aged between 21 and 33, were captured in Nkhotakota Boma.
They were reportedly involved in selling Indian hemp, commonly known as “chamba,” along with others who were found selling liquor and fuel without proper documentation.
Chuma stated that the individuals, identified as Mphatso Phiri, Richard Mark, Fabiano Lazalo, Wisdom Chayanika, and John James, all hail from the area of Senior Chief Malengachanzi in the district.
These suspects are anticipated to appear in court soon, where they will respond to the charges brought against them.
