Fédération International de Football Association (FIFA), President Gianni Infantino has congratulated the newly elected Football Association of Malawi (FAM), President Fleetwood Haiya.

According to a letter signed by Gianni Infantino, FIFA will work hand in hand with Haiya to develop football in Malawi.

“I am convinced with the potential of football in Malawi, you can count on my Personal support and the help of FIFA to achieve this goal. The doors of FIFA are always open if you wish to discuss our spot, its development and the promotion of its Values,” Said Infantino in a letter.

Meanwhile, President of the Republic of Malawi Dr Lazarus Chakwera, has also congratulated Haiya and his entire team.

The elective general assembly which was held at Mzuzu Gland Palace Hotel, Haiya emerged the winner after defeating Walter Nyamilandu 23-13 to end Nyamilandu’s 19-year tenure as FAM president.
