One of Malawi’s conglomerates in the financial sector, FDH Financial Holdings, has awarded 64 employees who have worked for the group from 10 to 20 years.
The company has in recent years been recognising long serving employees from 10 years and beyond in five-year intervals.
Speaking at the ceremony, FDH Group Head of Human Resources Chrispin Chikwama said the group commits to staff development and welfare, hence the initiative.
“The Long Service Awards are part of initiatives that focus on employee development because we celebrate and appreciate the contribution that employees are making to the company,” Chikwama said.
Of the awardees, one who has served for 20 years walked away with K200,000, six who have been with the group for 15 years pocketed K150,000 each and some 57 employees,
who have worked for the institution for 10 years were given K100,000 each.
One of the awardees, Mwayi Mkandawire, who has worked for one of the group’s subsidiaries, FDH Bank, for 10 years, thanked the company, saying the initiative is motivating.
“It feels great to be part of this bank. I am super excited about this achievement,” Mkandawire said.
FDH Financial Holdings has subsidiaries such as FDH Bank, FDH Money Bureau and First Discount House.
Justin Mkweu is a fast growing reporter who currently works with Times Group on the business desk.
He is however flexible as he also writes about current affairs and national issues.
