A police officer and a pedestrian have died in road accident involving a cash-van belonging to FBH bank which is owned by well-known businessman Thomson Mpinganjira.

The accident happened this afternoon at Chingeni and it involved two police officers, four FDH bank employees and a pedestrian.

FDH Bank officials have confirmed of the accident in a statement made available to this publication few minutes ago.

According to the bank statement, Constable Acklas Samuel died on the spot while the pedestrian identified as Beatrice Douglas died at Balaka District Hospital where she was referred for treatment.
