FDH Group on Wednesday awarded three of its employees for their outstanding performance in 2021.
Batwell Kawerenga, who was named employee of the year, is Service Centre Manager at Jenda FDH. Benson Chande was the first runner up and Benjamin Kanjira was the second runner up.
Kawerenga’s recognition comes with an-all-paid for trip to Paris, France, and $1000 for other expenses.
Speaking at the function, the group’s chief executive officer William Mpinganjira said the initiative serves as a motivation to its employees to do more and better and, in turn, improve the banks customer services.
“We have been running employee of the year award for three years now; the idea is to motivate staff to go a little bit extra. But, in a good year, staff might also get bonuses but there could be one or two who do something special. And this is what encourages us and our customers and it inspires all staff within FDH Group.
“Kawerenga runs the only bank that operates at Jenda. He was able to source a single deposit of over K2 billion from one customer. It is not easy considering the location. We recognise the hard work that went into that deposit for the bank,” Mpinganjira said.
Kawerenga said he was humbled, stressing that the recognition would motivate him to work hard.
“I thank management for recognising me and I am grateful. This serves as a motivation and me and my team will continue to serve customers better,” Kawelenga said.
The bank has offered Kanjira and Chande a weekend with their partners at a local resort of their choice.
