FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Reserve have been booted out of the Nyasa Capital Finance Cup following a 1-0 loss to Zingwangwa United on Saturday at the Mpira Stadium.
The Junior People’s team created a lot of scoring opportunities but they lacked clinical finishing and they failed to find the back of the net.
Joseph Mkhuku’s goal in the second half in the 76th minute was enough for Zingwangwa united to secure a spot in the round of 16 of the Nyasa Capital Finance Cup.
Speaking after the match, Head Coach for the junior people’s team, Enos Chatama, said his boys missed a lot of chances and they could have won the match with a big margin if his boys had utilized their chances.
“It was a game that we would have won by a wider margin. We created 11 chances but converted none of them. We controlled the game and we had a better ball possession but our opponents used their chance, they scored four minutes before the time and we are out. We have to accept that we have lost, we need to move on and return to our training sessions,” said Chatama.
Meanwhile Zingwangwa united Coach Dida Zingwangwa praised his boys for their fighting spirit that they showed.
“Let me thank my boys for their good performance, the game was tough bullets controlled the game and had a lot of chances but they failed to convert, we had few chances but we utilized them, I am impressed with how my boys have performed,” said Dida.
Following the win, Zingwangwa United will face Friends of Mulanje Orphans, FOMO Football Club in the round of 16 of the competition.
