Ex-VP Khumbo Kachali smell staged abduction in Namiwa’s missing scandal

Former Vice President Khumbo Hastings Kachali who is also Freedom Party (FP) President has accused right activists, Sylvester Namiwa of staging his own abduction.

Namiwa was allegedly abducted 45 minutes after addressing the media Wednesday afternoon ahead of the failed Thursday demonstrations in Lilongwe.

He was later found dumped in Nathenje area on Thursday afternoon.

Writing on his official facebook, while expressing joy that Namiwa has been found alive, Kachali asked the police to investigate the mist surrounding the abduction.

“Fellow Patriotic Malawians, it is good that Mr. Silvester Namiwa, a well known Human Rights Ambassador, has been found alive. It is imperative that the police should get to the bottom of this issue and bring to book thugs that carried out this abduction.

“We are all aware that in the recent past, there has been rumours of ‘self-staged’ abductions for political expediency. Police, with this in hindsight, should thoroughly interrogate Mr. Namiwa and employ all the necessary resources at their disposal to establish the truth,” wrote Kachali.

Meanwhile, Namiwa has accused the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) of having a hand in his abduction.
