Ex-Miss Malawi Tionge Munthali speaks out after being blocked from handing over crown

Former Miss Malawi Tionge Munthali has come out of the cocoon to blast organisers of this year’s event for blocking her from handing over the crown to the new holder Jessica Mponda.

According to inside sources, Munthali was blocked from the event for being inappropriately dressed.

The organisers said her dress was not modest enough to appear before the first lady Monica Chikwera who was the guest of honour at the event.

Reacting the incident the former Miss Malawi Tionge Munthali could not hide her sadness on the matter.

“I got bullied so much as Miss Malawi, I literally developed serious anxiety from it, at no point did the organisers come to my defense.

“Tonight I got bullied again, i was told I couldn’t hand over the crown because I was inappropriately dressed, mind you I’ve been the reigning queen for four f**cking years! I could have stayed in my house tonight and watch tv,” wrote Munthali.

Meanwhile, Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Ward Leonard Chimbanga has joined Malawians in condemning the organizers for blocking outgoing beauty pageant.
