Ex-MERA CEO Collins Magalasi’s case back in court

The Lilongwe Magistrate Court has started parading witnesses in a case in which Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA), Collins Magalasi is accused of meddling in the procurement of a fuel testing van.

Two witnesses, George Ndilowe, MERA’s Senior Fuel Regulatory Specialist and Alinafe Nkavea, Director of Liquid Fuels and Gas are those that have given their testimonies.

Magalasi alongside a procurement officer, Bright Mbewe are being accused of interfering in the procurement processes of the van which was budgeted at MK400 million, an amount that was later revised downwards to MK244 million.
