ESCOM Charges Crossroads Hotels In Lilongwe K1.2 Million For Allegedly Illegally Purchasing Pre-Paid Electricity

Information reaching Face Of Malawi shows that Electricity Supply Corporation of Malawi (ESCOM) has charged Crossroads Hotels in Lilongwe a total of K1, 298,000 for allegedly illegally purchasing pre-paid electricity which ESCOM uncovered during an exercise conducted by the power supplier’s inspection team.

ESCOM discovered that the companies under Crossroads Hotels including Snow White Dry Cleaner had purchased electricity units amounting to K118, 254.

Inside sources indicate they have agreed to pay and they explained how they bought the units from EGENCO employees.

Owners of Crossroads Hotels and ESCOM public relations officer Innocent Chitosi were not immediately available for a comment.
