The Electricity Generation Company (EGENCO) says it has switched on the fourth turbine at Kapichira Hydro Power Station in Chikwawa District.
This means the power station has been restored to full capacity and is now feeding 129 megawatts to the national grid.
“We are very happy to bring back on line the final machine. This means we have now 129.6mw fully available to the grid,” Moses Gwaza, EGENCO spokesperson, said.
EGENCO has used MK11 billion to restore the power station which was watched away by Cyclone Ana.
