Minister of Finance Felix Mlusu has announced that Duty Free Week for 2021/2022 Fiscal Year will start from 23 January to 29 January 2022.

During this week, Malawians will have an opportunity of importing duty free goods of not more than $3000.

According to customs and excise (duty free week) regulations of 2022, an eligible importer shall have a Taxpayer Identification Number and will be eligible to import goods worth less than $3000 (K2.4 million) for personal use.

The duty free week is a campaign promise made by Tonse Alliance prior to June 2020 elections.
