Duo Arrested for Shop Break-In and Theft in Jenda, Mzimba

Police at Jenda have nabbed Maxwell Dewe 40 and Sanena Nkhonjera 25 on suspicion that they broke into a shop belonging to Maxwell Kamanga and went away with various items on August 26, 2023 at Jenda in Mzimba.

The shop owner discovered that some groceries and other things were missing soon after opening the shop in the morning of August 27, 2023.

Some of the items missing were; two cartons of Azam soap, three packets of sugar, a bag of soya pieces, Yellow solar panel and other groceries valued at 390,470 Malawian Kwacha.

The matter was reported at Jenda Police Station.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of detectives apprehended the duo and recovered the stolen goods.

The duo was also found with a bunch of master keys they used to open and lock the padlocks.

The two have been charged with breaking into a building and committing a felony therein, contrary to section 311 of the penal code and they will appear before court in due course.

Dewe comes from Chavula Village, Traditional Authority Simulemba in Kasungu while Nkhonjera comes from Kajikhomere village, Traditional Authority Mzikubola in Mzimba.
