Driver slapped with four years jail sentence for injuring traffic officer

The Mzuzu Chief Resident Magistrate Court on Monday sentenced 73 year old John Sanga to four years imprisonment with hard labor for causing injuries to a traffic officer and careless driving.

The convict hit a traffic police officer in Mzuzu Sub Inspector Madalitso Malika in July.

State Prosecutor Bettie Msowoya welcomed the judgement saying most people intentionally cause harm to others with thoughts that they will get away with a fine.
