A driver of a truck which carried bales of tobacco has died in a road accident that occurred at Tchawale Trade Centre in Dowa District this afternoon.

An eye witness, Chisomo Banda, has told the press that at the time of accident, the vehicle was coming from the direction of Ntchisi heading towards Lilongwe.

He said upon arrival at the trade centre, the vehicle missed the road and hit one of the buildings before overturning several times.

Meanwhile, police in the district are on the ground to establish the real cause of the accident.
