Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) has asked the government to properly explain how it is spending during presidential foreign and local trips.
During DPP rally at Katoto Ground in Mzuzu, former minister of Finance, who is also DPP’s president for the north Goodall Gondwe said during his experience the president was using close to 13 million kwacha on every local trip he made.
“I have done those before I know what I am saying. That time in the 1970,s I was Secretary to the Treasury every time when the president was going out on local trips he was using not less than K13 million,” Goodall Gondwe.
Gondwe said government should come clear and explain presidential expenditure in foreign and local trips.
Different individuals have spoken against presidential trips over disappearance of forex in the country.
