Democratic Progressive party (DPP) Councillor for Blantyre City Soche East Ward Leonard Chimbanga will appear in court on Wednesday for allegedly being found with unlicensed firearm.

Spokesperson for Chileka police Jonathan Phillipo has confirmed of the development in an interview with one of the local media houses in the country.

Philipo said the law forcers are still doing investigations to find adequate information.

Chimbanga was arrested last Friday after being found with an unlicensed pistol and two live bullets.

The opposition DPP is yet to comment on the matter.
