The Democratic Progressive Party DPP (DPP) has slated 10th to 13th July, 2023 as dates for it’s elective convention.
In a statement, Spokesperson for former state president Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika Shadreck Namalomba confirmed of dates, saying the leadership noted with growing concerns from party members and the general public on delays of much awaited elective convention.
“Therefore, would like to announce that the convention will be held from 10th to 13th July on the dates at a venue to be announced later.” said Namalomba in a statement
Mangochi South West MP further said the leadership decided to hold the elective convention on those dates so that to put to rest misunderstandings which exist on who would be the candidate to represent the party in 2025 general elections.
The statement adds that DP, particularly its leader Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika would like to appeal for calm and patience during the planning period for the event and has appealed to all who want to contest for the race to avail themselves on those dates.
