The opposition Democratic Progressive Party DPP has condemned alleged members of the ruling Malawi Congress Party for allegedly beating and harassing women and youths in Mponela, Dowa District.
The DPP claims that the said people were harassed for wearing party legalia which they were reportedly forced to take off.
In a statement signed by DPP spokesperson Shadreck Namalomba, DPP said they are seeking the MCP to condemn acts of the alleged members.
According to Namalomba, the DPP feels that the alleged acts demonstrate barbarism and are uncalled for.
