Over 500 people are confirmed to have died following cyclone Freddy which hit the country last week Sunday.

Commissioner for disaster Charles Kalemba has also confirmed that over 300 people are still missing.

President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera on Sunday cheered flood victims in Mangochi where he appealed for unity in supporting flood victims.

The President then hailed Zambia, Tanzania and the United State of America for the support rendered to Malawi.
