On it’s part, the school administration contributed plates, soap, cups, sugar, soya pieces and salt for use in camps valued at k2million.
In an interview, Loreen Bandawe a standard seven leaner said they wanted to show love to fellow learners affected by disaster through donation.
“We imagine it to be a difficult situation that our friends are in.They are not in school, some lack clothes while others lost their parents. This is too much and we wanted to show that we are with them by way of giving them clothes and shoes”.She said.
The schools director Joseph Patel said he was grateful to the parents and learners for the donation.
Patel said the gesture by his learners is important teaching learners doing charitable work whilst they are still young.
“This is a commendable effort by learners who through this donation have demonstrated care for others. With this, the spirit of caring and volunteerism is inculcated in learners while at young age.”he said.
The donation came from learners at Crazmatic International, Dellojo, Phillipina Memorial boarding school and Crazmatic 1 primary and secondary.
According to Patel, the donation will be sent to Blantyre today(Thursday ) and Blantyre city council will identify the camp with more children to benefit from it.
