The High court in Blantyre is yet to set a date for sentencing of convicted police officer, Andrew Chagaga, who defiled a 17-year-old girl twice while she was in custody at Limbe police station.

Both Registrar of the High Court and Supreme Court of Appeal Gladys Gondwe and State lawyer Chikondi Chijozi have confirmed a short while ago that sentence-hearing was already done a few months ago and they just await sentencing.

Limbe magistrate court convicted Chagaga on August 31, 2021 and committed him to High Court for sentencing.
