the Industrial Relations court has granted a relief order to 13 employees of Greenbelt Initiative, effectively reinstating them to their positions.

The court order, granted by Chairperson of the Labour Relations Court Austin Msowoya, has directed the authority to start paying the employees their full salaries and benefits from the month of November 2022, until the matter is resolved.

The employees were fired last year on grounds that they were irregularly recruited between 2014 and 2020.

The recommendations to fire the employees came from the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament.
