Consumers Scramble For Sugar In Zomba

Reports reaching this publication indicates that many shops in Zomba have run out of sugar forcing the consumers to scramble for the commodity.

The reports follow last week rumors that the old capital had been hit by commodity’s scarcity on the market.

One of the buyers we spoke to, Felix Tombo, claims he has been buying a one-kilogramme packet of sugar at K2,000, especially at Chinamwali Market.

According to Times360, it conducted checks in Lilongwe and Blantyre also found that several shops had run out of the commodity while the few that had it in stock had significantly raised the prices.
