Some concerned teachers have written the Malawi Congress of Trade Unions to nullify the May 28 elections by the Teachers Union of Malawi (TUM) on grounds that the polls were held irregularly.

Secretary of the group Azeez Losa says there was no communication to members prior to the elections in order to allow other interested individuals to campaign and contest.

But TUM President Willie Malimba says all the necessary procedures were followed.
