People at Kabuwa in Traditional Authority Khosolo in Mzimba have requested their legislator Ackson Kalaile Banda (People’s Party) to assist in constructing a school block at Kambulaudzu Primary School in the area.
The school, in Mzimba South East Constituency, has 296 learners, but has one school block.

In an interview on Friday, the school’s parents and teachers association chairperson Moses Fote said the unfinished school block was built by a local non-governmental organisation through Kabuwa Community-Based Organisation in 2007.
He said: “The school has one school block. Some learners use a church as a classroom.
“We have reported the issue to several duty-bearers, but nothing has been done to address the situation.”
In a separate interview, Banda said he was aware of the challenge at the school and pledged to support the community in building a better school block.
“M’Mbelwa District Council intends to build classroom blocks in several schools in the district using Constituency Development Fund and I am hopeful that we will benefit from this arrangement as well,” he said.
