COMMECIAL SEX WORKER JAILED FOR FAILING TO TAKE CARE OF HER CHILDREN

Mangochi Second Grade Magistrate Court has convicted a Commercial Sex Worker to 30 months imprisonment with hard labor for being found guilty of neglecting her children.

The state prosecutor Maston Matsonga told the court that the convict had left her children alone aged 5 and 3.

It is reported that she went to Mangochi Boma to do her business where she stayed for four days without thinking of her children who were loitering within the village looking for food which made well-wishers to report the matter to police who arrested her.

The state prosecutor further said that the convict was released after promising to take care of her children, later the convict abandoned the children for a week which prompted her second arrest and subsequent conviction.

However, Currently, the children are in hands of social welfare officers

The convict has been identified as 28 year old Laima Mussah from Makumba Village, Traditional Authority Chowe in Mangochi.

It is reported that she went to Mangochi Boma to operate her business where she stayed for four days.
