National beach coach Willy Kumilambe has said he expected tough opponents in the 2022 Beach Soccer Africa Cup of Nations (BSAfcon) draw.
Malawi, who will be making their debut appearance at the tournament scheduled for October in Mozambique, have been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Mozambique, Nigeria and Morocco.

Group B has defending champions Senegal, Uganda, Madagascar and Egypt.
Said Kumilambe on Friday: “When you look at all the eight teams, they are the best in Africa, including us. So, we expected it.
“We know very little about these teams, but we have seen some clips and we have an idea about how they play, but we will study them and prepare accordingly.
“We are glad that the draw is out and we’ll now intensify our preparations and focus on our opponents.”
He also said they will not travel to Mozambique just to make up the numbers, but to compete for honours.
Malawi qualified for the finals after booting out neighbours Tanzania on away goal rule.
They won the first leg 3-2 in Salima and lost 6-5 in Dar es Salaam to tie eight-all.
