Child Rights Activist Calls for Self-Defense Education for Girls to Combat Gender-Based Violence

Memory Ngosi Chisenga, a child rights activist, is calling on stakeholders to equip girls with defensive skills to protect themselves from abusers in isolated spaces.

Following the murder of a 12-year-old school girl in Thyolo earlier this week, Chisenga emphasized the importance of providing girls with the necessary tools to escape abuse.

Chisenga also urged law enforcement to trace the culprits and bring justice to the family of the victim.

Thyolo police station officer, John Jailos, stated that investigators are working to establish the circumstances surrounding the brutal killing of the standard 8 learner at Ntambanyama primary school.
