A child is, reportedly, dead and three family members injured after a house burst into flames of fire last night in Kasungu district.

It is reported that the inferno emanated from the petrol the family was keeping in the house.

The incident occurred at Mdoni Trade Centre in the area of Senior Chief Kapelula.

Senior Chief Kapelula has since confirmed of the development in an interview with the press.

The Malawi Energy Regulatory Authority (MERA) has on several occasion denounced the tendency of keeping fuel in houses.

The body recently engaged the law enforcers to arrest anyone found keeping the fuel.
