Chibuku Products Limited on Wednesday handed over 200 bags of cement worth K3.4 million to Thyolo Central Constituency to help in building houses for people who were displaced by Cyclone Freddy.
In an interview on the sidelines of a symbolic handover in Blantyre on Wednesday, the company’s marketing and corporate affairs manager Henry M’bweza said they were compelled to make the donation as part of their corporate social responsibility.

“As a company, we are happy to reach out to our fellow Malawians who are in need of support through this donation that we have made,” he said.
M’bweza said the company believes that through such initiatives they will be making a positive contribution to society.
Thyolo Central member of Parliament (Democratic Progressive Party) Ben Phiri thanked Chibuku Products for the donation that will go a long way in assisting families that were stranded in the aftermath of Cyclone Freddy.
“Chibuku Products Limited is indeed a friend in need and as people of Thyolo Central Constituency, we are grateful,” he said.
