President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera will on Saturday attend the consecration of Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima of Zomba Diocese.

The ceremony will be held at Zomba Catholic Secondary School Ground.

Zomba Diocese has been without a substantive bishop since Archbishop George Desmond Tambala was appointed Archbishop of Lilongwe Diocese in October 2021.

Father Chaima was appointed as Bishop by Pope Francis in June this year.
