Chakwera shocked with Namiwa’s abduction

President Lazarus Chakwera has said he is deeply disturbed by news of alleged abduction of Executive Director for the Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiative (CDEDI) Sylvester Namiwa.

Namiwa was allegedly abducted 45 minutes after addressing the media Wednesday afternoon on today’s demonstrations pushing for President Lazarus Chakwera to remove his presidential immunity from prosecution.

In a statement issued a while ago by state house press secretary Anthony Kasunda, Chakwera has demanded speedy investigations into where Namiwa could be and what has happened to him.
