President Lazarus Chakwera has directed that every first Thursday of each November is “Umodzi Day” a day when Malawians should be commemorating peace and unity.
President Chakwera made the directive a while ago during the commemoration marking the first ever “Umodzi Day” currently underway at Chilimampunga ground in Lilongwe.
He said being one of the cornerstones the country was founded on, citizens should jealously guard their freedom, which he said is crucial for the country’s development.
