President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and Madam Monica Chakwera have arrived in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of Congo through Ndhili International Airport ahead of the 42nd Ordinary SADC Summit of Heads of State and Government.

Upon arrival, Dr Chakwera was welcomed by a cross-section of senior government officials from the two countries led by DRC’s Prime Minister, Jean-Michel Sama Lukonde, Secretary to Government and Cabinet, Collen Zamba, Malawi’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nancy Tembo, Malawi’s Minister of Trade, Mark Katsonga Phiri among others.

During the summit, the Malawi leader is also expected to handover chairmanship to DRC’s President Felix Tshisekedi.

On the sidelines, Dr Chakwera is also expected to hold bilateral talks with different Heads of State and Governments.
