President Dr. Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Justice of Appeal Lovemore Chikopa SC as Deputy Chief Justice of the Republic of Malawi.

Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba has confirmed of the development in a statement made available to this publication.

According to the statement, the appointment is in pursuant to Section 111 (2) of the Constitution of Malawi.

The Malawi Judiciary has since wished well Justice Chikopa SC.

Chikopa’s appointment is with immediate effect.
