CDEDI Hints At Lack Of Seriousness By Govt In Corruption Fight

Following the arrest of Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Director General, Martha Chizuma yesterday over January leaked audio, different social bodies have shared their views on the matter.

On of the bodies, Centre for Democracy and Economic Development (CDEDI) has describe the situation as sad and unpleasing in the government’s fight against corruption.

CDEDI Director, Slyvester Namiwa said, during a media briefing in Lilongwe that there is need for more to be done by President Lazarus Chakwera on the matter.

According to Namiwa, suspending Dr Steve Kayuni who according to police lodged a complaint over Chizuma’s conduct in a leaked audio that detailed the fight against corruption is not just enough.

Chizuma was granted police bail and all charges were dropped.
