CDEDI gives government 7 days ultimatum to cancel citizenship statuses of 115 foreign nationals

Center for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives (CDEDI) has given government 7 days ultimatum to revoke statuses of 115 foreign nationals who were illegally naturalized as citizens for Malawi.

This is said to had had happened in between 2012 and 2014 mostly for Rwandans and Burundians.

Executive Director for CDEDI Sylvester Namiwa has said that they are making the demand because a whole former minister of Homeland Security Uladi Mussa was convicted for approving applicants which were irregular.

According to Namiwa these people are security threat to the country hence giving Ken Zikhale Ng’oma Minister of Homeland security 7 days to rise above politics and correct this anomaly forthwith.
