CDEDI Demands Chakwera And Chilima To Cut Travels, Reduce Salaries And Trim Cabinet

Center for Democracy and Economic Development (CDEDI) has is not pleased with local travels made by president Lazarus Chakwera and his vice Saulos Chilima saying it is a waste of resources.

Chakwera and Chilima made local travels for crop inspection and reviewing public sector reforms implementation respectively.

CDEDI Executive Director, Silvester Namiwa made the remarks during a media briefing in Lilongwe.

Namiwa said the president and his cabinet should reduce their salaries by half and use the money in assisting people who have been faced with various disasters.

The organization is also asking president Chakwera to trim his Cabinet from the current 32 members to 20.
