The body of late Kate Mussa, a first year student at Catholic University of Malawi (CUNIMA) has been laid to rest at her home district in Thyolo.

Mussa died Sunday morning after suffering from acute tonsillitis.

The funeral ceremony started with a mass Mtenje Catholic Parish Church and the mass was presided over by Rev. Fr. Dr. Israel Madziakaphwa.

Hundreds of students led by CUNIMA Vice Chancellor Rev. Fr. Dr. George Buleya attended the funeral ceremony.

Mussa was studying Bachelor of Arts in Education (English).

She died at the age of 17.
